The AUC announces initiating the work in executing one of its important initiatives in Authority Control at the Arabic level.

This initiative is to start the first stage of the completion of building its Arabic authority files. This step resembles an ambitious plan aiming at building an electronic authority file that expresses the Arabic and Islamic environment and culture, responds to the latest developments, updates, and standards in Authority Control, and aims at introducing completed authority files in terms of cross references and links between the global authority files.

The AUC will pay a special attention to the Arabic names, especially the old ones.

Additionally, there will be an invitation to collaborate the specialists and those who are interested in giving opinions and interacting in forming the Arabic subject headings.

This invitation will be announced via the AUC channels.
