The Sudan Library Portal, which is managed in collaboration between the Sudanese National Library and the United Arab Index, is a window on Sudanese libraries and the Arab intellectual heritage in Sudan. It is a link between the components of Arab culture and an important source of Arab thought. This portal aims to be a unified Sudanese national index that will make available the collections of Sudanese libraries members in the unified Arab index through one portal on the Internet, limit Sudanese intellectual production to a record base, and help libraries to develop their catalogs and share their experiences. The importance of this portal is reflected in the fact that it is part of the State Portal in the Arab Unified Index, an Arab project that works to support Arab infrastructure programs in the field of libraries and information by limiting the published and unpublished Arab intellectual production in Arab and foreign libraries to a large bibliographic base based on Universal specifications and standards that will consolidate the data of the information vessels and facilitate the exchange of bibliographic records between libraries on the direct line, which avoids the repetition of indexing one container within Arab libraries.
