Under the theme of "Quality of Training and Qualification Programs in Libraries and Information: Roadmap to Professional and Academic Accreditation," the Arabic Union Catalog participated in the 23rd Conference of the Specialized Libraries Association - Arabian Gulf Branch on July 1, 2017. As a result, there was positive participation from the Arabic Union Catalog.

AUC had a dedicated booth at the conference exhibition, which attracted many visitors. Participation in this event had a significant impact.

During the 23rd Conference of the Specialized Libraries Association, Dr. Saleh Al-Musnad, the Director of the Arabic Union Catalog, presented. The exhibition was titled "The Contribution of the AUC in Supporting Quality: Bibliographic Control Quality in Member Libraries." Dr. Al-Musnad discussed the stages of quality control for bibliographic records at various levels, such as description and referencing. He also analyzed errors found in a random sample of bibliographic records cataloged by member libraries and included in the Arabic Union Catalog.
