As part of the Specialized Library Association - Gulf Branch's 24th Annual Conference and Exhibition, the Arabic Union Catalog participated on July 1st, 2017. Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, hosted the event from the 6th to the 8th of March, 2018. The Director of the Arabic Union Catalog delivered a scientific presentation entitled "The Arabic Union Catalog and the Unified Digital Library: Integration into Arab Knowledge Services.".

AUC also conducted a workshop on "The Latest Updates of the Arabic Union Catalog and Unified Arab Digital Library" on the third day under the theme "Big Data 0.2 and the Key Roles of Information and Library Professionals.".

The conference also included a training course. This course focused on RDA rules and MARC 21 standards for describing non-print materials. During the course, students from Sultan Qaboos University attended from March 4th to 5th.

The AUC showcased its latest publications, services, and digital library at the exhibition through its dedicated booth. Visitors and conference attendees showed significant interest and participation in the booth..
