I recently learned about the eighth meeting of the Arabic Union Catalog at the Kuwait National Library from November 20th to 22nd. The theme of the meeting was "Towards Effective Information Access Towards Sustainable Development," and it brought together a diverse group of institutions from across the Arab region.

During the opening session, a launch ceremony was held for the Arabic Union Catalog Library, which is expected to benefit the Arab world significantly by providing a source of sustainable development. In addition to the launch ceremony, training workshops on RDA rules and digital content management were held from November 19th to 20th, 2017. The Arabic Union Catalog was also showcased at an exhibition during the meeting.

There were many presentations and scholarly discussions on sustainable development at the meeting, which outlined the Arab Union Catalog's vision for sustainable development in the future. Overall, it was a very informative and productive event.
