On Monday, August 10, 2015, there was a training session on maintaining personal name authority files for the Arabic Union Catalog. The event was held at the Sudan National Library. The course covered using the authority portal for uniform titles, handling its catalogs, and using its interactive interfaces. Practical examples were provided, and the authority headings and their updates were explained. There was ample time for inquiries about the nature and specificity of personal names authority files and questions about specific titles and their uses, which were all addressed.

There was significant interest in this course, delivered by Mr. Mustafa Rajab, the coordinator for the Arabic Union catalog. The course provided them with the most important benefit.
