During the first week of July 2017, member libraries were supported in maximizing the potential of the Arabic Union Catalog (AUC). Sharjah Public Library have been provided with an AUC training course to maximize members' benefits. The participants attended the course on Monday and Tuesday, April 20th and 21st, 2017. The course was divided into two sections, and it was designed to help the participants learn how to use the AUC effectively. The course was a great success, and the participants left with a better understanding of maximizing the AUC's benefits. In addition, the support provided to member libraries was invaluable and helped ensure that the AUC was being used to its full potential.
- A brief overview of the Arabic Union Catalog portal was provided in the first section. In addition to highlighting the latest search tools and features, it explained all the services the AUC offers. AUC's user interface was also explained.
- The second section discussed search capabilities, download options, and original cataloging. Then, with relevant examples, it demonstrated how to utilize each feature fully. Finally, all questions were answered, and participants were encouraged to ask questions.
AUC's General Coordinator, Yasmin Ali, presented the course. This training course was well received by Sharjah Public Library, which showed keen interest in it.
