In a training course attended by specialists in documents, The foundation of King Abdul Aziz Darah develops its technical skills by the Arabic Union Catalog In an important cooperation between King Abdul Aziz Public Library and King Abdul Aziz Darah (King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives), they organized a training course to develop the skills of its staff of documents department.

This training course is aiming to completing the national plan prepared by Darah in this field. Whereas, Darah is interested in developing its human resources through all of means which can add experience and capabilities to execute its plans so as the documents meet the best used practices and applications according to the most important technical standards.

This is what the Arabic Union Catalog (AUC) performs in training staff of its member entities on internationally authorized skills and standards. Hence, the process of spreading a document can be facilitated and benefited from since it is considered the home of memory and history and one of the most important resources of modern generations.

Thus, H.E. Dr. Fahd Ibn Abdullah Alsamari, Secretary-General of King Abdul Aziz Darah, said: the big and active role of the AUC, which is considered an initiative of King Abdul Aziz Public Library in standardizing methods and tools of the technical practices in the field of building bibliographic records, is an important issue which normatively and uniformly participates in exchanging the bibliographic data.

He also added: this is what makes us care about benefiting from the technically developed practices introduced by the AUC Center through a series of training courses. Also, H.E. Dr. Abdulkareem Alzayd, Deputy General Supervisor of King Abdul Aziz Public Library, said: we, King Abdul Aziz Darah and its revered administration represented by H.E. Fahd Ibn Abdullah Alsamari always share the same aims demonstrating in elevating the level of efficiency and motivating the human abilities and giving them all needed skills and capabilities to serve the country and its leadership which realizes the importance of settling and granting the knowledge to workers of all fields to meet what is expected from them in rising up the projects. Therefore, the coming vision of Darah can be started through exerting efforts and exploiting capabilities.

Furthermore, Dr. Abdulkareem Alzayd mentioned: we always welcome serving all sectors and entities by what is available of experiences that King Abdul Aziz Public Library acquired through its bright projects.

Additionally, H.E. Dr. Saleh Almusned, Director of the AUC Center, said: we are an important home of specialized training homes all over the world in our field. We have succeeded in holding training courses in all the Arab World either by a direct way or by an electronic medium.

Therefore, our cooperation in holding a training course with King Abdul Aziz Darah comes under the joint and permanent cooperation in this field since cataloging and classifying documents are an important issue. So, we have to develop and progress them according to the latest capabilities to promoting the level of skill in cataloging documents by the newest techniques in accordance with Anglo-American cataloging rules and MARC21. This training course is considered a start for a series of other new training courses organized by the AUC.
