Tunisian Libraries Portal was officially launched at the National Library headquarters on July 1, 2017, by the Arab Union Catalog (AUC). By inaugurating the portal, the Minister of Culture, Mr. Mohamed Zine El Abidine, was accompanied by Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed Al-Musnad, Director of the Arab Union Catalog Center, who aims to provide researchers with access to Tunisian intellectual heritage through a single Internet portal. It is a national library catalog that combines all types of Tunisian libraries under a single network. During his visit to the National Library, Hager Sahli stated that the Tunisian Libraries Portal, which has now joined the Arab space, represents a collaborative effort to develop an Arab bibliographic industry that adheres to international standards. The Tunisian intellectual production is disseminated and promoted by exchanging data and information between countries. By collecting bibliographic data, updating reference files, and copying Arabic records from the Arab Union Catalog, the Arabic Union Catalog combines the National Library, the Public Reading Administration, university libraries, and documentation centers. It streamlines and unifies catalogs' work. Researchers, website visitors, and users of digital applications benefit significantly from the portal, which provides diverse sources of information easily accessible.

A major step in Arab cultural cooperation was achieved with this project, which connects the Arab Union Catalog with the National Library. In a time of political division, it is a safe and trustworthy haven for Arab nations. In his speech, he stressed the importance of unifying Arab countries through literature, culture, and thought. According to Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed Al-Musnad, Director of the Arabic Union Catalog Center, the Tunisian Libraries Portal is part of a system that connects 11 gateways, linking 5,000 libraries belonging to 560 Arab institutions and organizations, including Sudan, Algeria, and Saudi Arabia. Dr. King Abdulaziz received commemorative shields from the General King Abdulaziz Public Library after watching an introductory video on the Arab Union Catalog. Director Khaled Al-Habshi, Director of the Higher Institute of Documentation, Director of Public Reading Administration, and Director of Practical and Technical Affairs at the National Library, Mania Hamdoun. As a means of recognizing their contributions to the establishment of this project, which allows Tunisian knowledge treasures to be published and promoted.
